The surgery is
very well appointed with four consulting rooms and the practice nurses
now have two rooms, one of which is mainly used for minor procedures.
The Physiotherapist and Chiropodist who visit on a regular basis, have
their own room which they share. The surgery is also the base for the
local District Nurse team, Midwife, Health Visitor and CPN. who have
their own office space and clinical rooms.
There are computers in all the consulting rooms, reception, dispensary
and community nurse rooms, all networked to the clinical system server,
so that everyone in the team can access the clinical system.
We now use Emis PCS, which is a proving difficult to adapt to after
many years with iSOFT and its predecessors. All consultations and
dispensing are computerized and there is Internet access throughout. We
also have an electronic stock control and ordering system.
